your truth is

welcome here

You don’t need to arrive with clarity. The work of therapy is discovering it together.

Meaningful therapy begins with genuine connection. I want to get to know the real you.

There’s no need to filter, censor, or minimize your thoughts, fears, needs, or personality.

THERAPY OPTIONS

How can we work together?

Start here when something needs to shift, but the path forward isn't clear

Individual therapy

For older teens and adults

You may find your energy goes towards everyone and everything around you: school, work, family, friends, and the endless list of things you 'should' be doing.

But how much of that energy are you giving back to yourself? Individual therapy is an opportunity to step back from the demands of daily life and reconnect with what you need.

A space to laugh, share, investigate, understand, or release –– it’s all fair game. Together we can explore your internalized beliefs, understand your behaviors and response patterns, and support you in moving forward from a place of self-alignment.

I’m big on sharing practical tools you can actually use in between sessions, and I wholeheartedly believe humor is an essential part of therapy.

Individual therapy is the best place to start when you want to feel more understanding, empowered, capable, and intentional.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Talk therapy is an effective way to understand the why behind your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors.

But sometimes knowing and understanding doesn’t create the emotional or behavioral change you've been working toward.

This is where EMDR comes in.

EMDR is an evidenced-based therapy that helps reduce the emotional intensity and impact of your past experiences, memories, or traumas. Instead of only talking through the past, EMDR helps your brain and body reprocess experiences to promote deeper, long-term healing. It helps create alignment between what you know in your mind and what you feel in your body.

Let’s Work Together

Parent Support and Family Therapy

“Being heard and understood is one of the greatest desires of the human heart.” – Richard Carlson

Parenting a child with emotional, behavioral, or physical differences can create feelings of isolation, grief, and overwhelm. You may be too embarrassed to confide in others or grieving the life you envisioned for yourself or your child. You may be feeling incapable in your role as a caregiver or reacting in ways that don't feel like you. You can find support for navigating all of these challenges in therapy.

Sometimes treating the family system as a whole provides the best opportunity for real change, which is why, in addition to parent support, I also offer family therapy that includes the whole family system.

This work isn’t about “fixing” anyone or creating a perfect family (those do not exist). Instead, we’ll work together to navigate conflict, communicate more effectively, and create a more connected home environment.

The goal is to help all family members feel seen, understood, and emotionally connected.

Let’s Work Together

Meet your therapist

Hi!  I'm Julie, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and EMDR-Trained therapist.  For the last 14 years, I’ve worked across all levels of care: inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient.

Much of my counseling experience has centered on supporting individuals with eating disorders. Eating disorders rarely occur in isolation and require attention to treatment of anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and relational challenges. Supporting individuals with eating disorders also means supporting the family system with education and tools for rebuilding connection, problem-solving as a unit, or processing shared family trauma.

My experience has positioned me to effectively support older teens, parents, and families presenting with various struggles and experiences.

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me spending time with my family, spoiling my sheepadoodle, and staying connected to my people. I also love exploring the Dallas food scene (Mexican is my all-time favorite!).

I’m glad you’re here. I have a deep hope in your ability to cope, grow, tolerate, and heal. My job is to meet you where you are, offering support, accountability, practical tools, and a commitment to navigating the hard alongside you.

Taking this first step can feel like the hardest part and it can mark the beginning of real change.

FAQ

All therapy services are private, self-pay.

I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance provider. It’s your responsibility to confirm coverage and/or reimbursement for out-of-network charges. It’s important to note that providing a super bill does require me to assign a diagnosis, which may show up in your medical records.

All payment is due at the time of service.

A good fit often means you feel comfortable, respected, and understood. The best place to start is with a free consultation call! When we chat, pay attention to how you feel during and after our initial conversation. Do you feel heard? Safe enough to open up? Do I feel like someone you can laugh or maybe even cry with?

Initial intake sessions, where we discuss your history, presenting concerns, and treatment goals, are 60 minutes.

Individual, family, and EMDR sessions are 50 minutes. Extended EMDR sessions can be discussed upon request

When we begin, I typically meet with clients weekly to build a strong foundation. As you feel more confident, supported, and equipped, we will create a plan to gradually reduce frequency of sessions. I understand that availability, financial considerations, and your specific treatment needs may impact the treatment schedule.

Bi-weekly and monthly frequencies can also be discussed if appropriate.

Cancellations made prior to 24 hours of your appointment will not be charged.

Cancellations or rescheduled appointments made less than 24 hours of your appointment will be charged the full hourly session fee for the service that was scheduled.

No-shows will also be charged the full amount of the scheduled service. That being said, I recognize life doesn't always go as planned and provide every client with a "life happens” pass, allowing for a one-time waiver of a late cancellation or no-show fee.

Yes. I provide virtual sessions via a HIPAA-compliant platform for clients located in Texas and Missouri. I can provide in person sessions for clients located in Texas.

You don’t need to know how to do therapy. That’s my job. There’s no right way to show up. Some days you might talk a lot, other days you might not know where to start, and both are completely okay. We’ll navigate it together.

This can be hard to predict. Therapy has ebbs and flows. Each individual and family brings their own dynamic and readiness for the process, but we'll check in regularly to make sure you're getting what you need and working at a pace that supports you.

Starting therapy is the first step.

You don’t have to know where you want to go or how to get there.

We’ll figure that out together.
